This year’s RCF Experimental School Musical Gala was held on January 19th, 2018. Taking place in the gym, it was a fabulous two-hour sing-and-dancing show. The audience consisted of both Chinese and international students and staff, and they have all given us positive feedback on this audio-visual feast.

This outstanding show would not have happened without the great effort of the leading organizers  —Miss Mavis and Miss Debbie (our Chinese and International music teachers), as well as the S3 student Xenia Wei. We also appreciate the help given by several volunteers who have contributed a lot time and effort.

The show consisted of a variety of musical works ranging from singing and dancing to instrument performances. Singers confidently demonstrated their sophisticated singing skills. A band named Grey Lemon, which was founded by a group of students in RCF Experimental School, played at the beginning of the show. We have students who are especially good at dancing who showed their energetic and swift moves and steps; we also have students who are fond of Chinese traditional music and gave their performance of playing traditional Chinese instruments.

The preparation took a long time to ensure the high quality of the show; therefore, there were a series of auditions and rehearsals throughout the process and candidates competed fiercely and devoted their time and full energy to their performances. Thanks to the adequate preparation given by each participant, we enjoyed a high-standard musical entertainment at this year’s 2018 Musical Gala.

The audience was filled with joy and excitement from the beginning to the end of the show. It was a complete success and we are all looking forward to the surprise brought by next year’s Musical Gala.
