2016年12月1日下午1点,人朝分实验学校国际课程中心邀请中国教育在线总编、教育部教育涉外监管信息网总编陈志文先生到校,为高中家长做了题为《留学与西方先进教育理念的再认识》讲座。随后中国协和医科大学副教授、协和启迪心理咨询中心主任、心理医生杨霞做了《亲子沟通与心理支持---中学阶段》讲座。讲座引起强烈反响,自由提问环节,现场听众表示深受启发,并进一步提出自己关心的问题。直到活动结束,家长们还围着陈志文先生和杨霞教授不断发问。
On December 1st afternoon, RDFZ ALC has invited Mr. Chen Zhiwen to ourcampus to deliver a lecture for parents on further understanding of overseas study and western education philosophy, who serves as chief editor of China Education Online and Ministry of Education Foreign Regulatory Information Network.Professor Yang Xia then presented on parent-child communication and psychological support for parents. Professor Yang serves as associate professor of Peking Union Medical College as well as Centre Director and psychologist in Union Qidi Psychology Consultation Centre. The two lectures were considerably well-received by ALC parents, who raised insightful questions and asked for feedback from the two speakers during the Q & A session at the end.
在出国留学的热潮中,许多家庭为孩子选择了出国留学的道路,在这条路上,家长和同学们会面临无数选择,没有一个选择可以百分之百确定通向哪里。家长们自己没走过这条路,学生们以前的升学应对方法也有局限性,因此,这条路听上去容易,实则充满了思维和心性的双重考验,许多家长表示并不真正了解西方的教育,困惑于怎样才能更顺利地适应未来国外的学习。国际课程中心为了帮助家长更好地认识中西方文化及教育的差异,消除现阶段种种焦虑,共同助力于学生长远发展,特别邀请两位专家到校为家长答疑解惑,进行面对面交流。
With the increasing number of students going abroad for study, there are multiple choices for the parents, with almost no single path being guaranteed for success. Parents did not go through all these procedures on their own, adding their difficulty to help children handle with their college application. Most parents expressed their concern that they did not have a solid understanding of western education, which may result in worries about their children’s adaption to future overseas learning. ALC had this great opportunity to invite the two experts to our campus to discuss the differences between Chinese and western education,hoping to alleviate the anxiety of our parents and facilitate students’ long-term development.
对国内基础教育和高考改革以及中西方比较教育研究等方面广泛涉猎的陈志文先生围绕为什么要出国留学、国外大学看重什么、如何选择国外大学和专业三个问题展开,观点犀利,语言通俗。其中,“最好的学校一定是最合适的那一所”“不要过于纠结专业或者学校”“课外活动规划一定要从长计议,有特点易展示”等观点对学生和家长尤其有现实的指导意义。
Mr. Chen, who has an extensive knowledge of domestic compulsory education and comparative education across china and western countries, discussed the following topics with parents in an audience-friendly way: why students study abroad, what overseas colleges value, how students choose overseas colleges and majors. What he suggested about “ the best college may not be the best fit for your child” , “ obsession with selecting majors or colleges may not help your child” and “ having a long-term plan for featured and presentable extra-curricular activities” has evoked considerable consonance with all parents.
针对学生在学习和申请中出现的焦虑情绪,杨霞教授以诙谐幽默的方式开场,向在座的家长们讲述了自己孩子在国外求学的故事,她指出,目标设定、家庭氛围和学校环境都会对青春期孩子的心理发展产生影响。此外,杨霞教授还以鲜活的例子列举了亲子沟通中出现的一些误区及其对应的解决方法,为家长实际解决冲突和矛盾指明了方向。
Aiming at the anxiousness occurred among students’ schoolwork and application, Professor Yang started her lecture in a humorous way and related the story to parents about her own child who has studied abroad. She also pointed out that goal setting, family and school environment are all going to affect the psychological development of juveniles during the period of adolescence. Besides, Professor Yang used vivid examples in the parent-child communication and provided ways to solve them, providing some feasible approaches to solve parent-child conflicts.
杨霞教授告诉家长们:在意识层面,要学会区分孩子和自我的差异,接纳孩子的不足和问题;在情感层面,不必过分焦虑,要相信自己的孩子一定会按着基因传承的方向良好地发展;在升学方面,面对困惑和问题时,家长要相信专业人士的建议和意见,让权给专业人士。在生活中,要学会适当地给孩子加担子,让孩子见识、挑战各种环境。这样才能更好的适应和解决未知的问题和困境。
Professor Yang told the parents: in terms of mind set, parents need to identify the differences between children and adults, accept children’s weaknesses and problems; while when it comes to emotion and mental status, parents do not have to be over-anxious, and they must have faith in children that they will develop well with a solid genetic inherit; and when it comes to college application, parents are suggested to consult professionals in related fields. In daily life, parents should give children the pressure appropriately to let them dealwith challenges of any kind. This could let them adapt to unknown situations and solve troubles better.
通过这次活动,家长们既了解了如何更好地帮助孩子适应国际课程学习,什么因素决定了外知名大的录取结果;又了解了中学阶段青春期孩子可能会面对的心理问题及其产生原因,意识到亲子沟通和营造良好的家庭氛围对孩子成长的重要意义。很多初三学生家长也积极参与了讲座活动,大家都表示这样的讲座很接地气,有效地解决了他们的困惑和实际问题。
This lecture received a lot of positive feedback from our parents as they not only got to know how to help their children adapt to international curriculum with a clearer knowledge of what overseas colleges would value in admission, but also possible psychological problems and their causes for adolescentsby realizing the importance of parent-child communication with family rapport. Many Junior 3 parents also attended the lecture, saying that this lecture was very helpful to them, which solved some of their concerns as well.
