Mid-Autumn Festival - Taihang2018-11-11   Author : Taihang Student Union

The Mid-Autumn Festival is right around the corner. When it comes to the Mid-Autumn Festival, there is a variety of delicious mooncakes to choose from. After school on Thursday, September 20th, several senior students from the Student Union organized an activity to make snow skin or crystal mooncakes and all the TaiHang students were invited to participate.

After school, students gathered in the school canteen where the organizers had already prepared mooncake ingredients. They had stirred dough and then placed filling and powder on tables for the participants to create their own mooncakes with.

More and more students came to the canteen. After the senior students had given the instructions on how to make mooncakes, the participants couldn’t wait to have a try. First, they dipped their hands in some fine powder, then took some dough, kneaded it into a sphere, and flattened it. Next, we filled in the pastries using a spoon.

There were three different flavors - sweetened bean paste, rich lotus, and fresh pineapple. After pressing the dough gently into a mold, a delicate moon cake was formed.

When the activity was over, some students volunteered to stay and help to clean up the mess left after creating mooncakes.

We are grateful to the students who organized this event as they gave us such an interesting and meaningful experience. Last but not least, we wish you all a happy Mid-Autumn Festival. We hope everyone enjoys delicious mooncakes and a glorious noon.
