Award Ceremony for the “Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards”.
The Medal of “Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards”.
The 2016 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 30th in Beijing. The good news is, students from RDFZ Chaoyang Branch have excelled in this year’s exams. Two students, Olive from Class K2 and Via from K5, have won the“First in the World” award for gaining 100% in the global IGCSE Mathematics Exam. There are only 130 students receiving this award in China. Today I have interviewed the two students who just came back from the award ceremony, and invited them to share their learning experience in Mathematics.
Olive said that one of the main factors inachieving excellence in Mathematics is the English proficiency. If the student cannot comprehend the question, he or she may lose some marks. In addition, developing good habits is also very important. “Usually I do preview and review timely. I also ask questions when I don’t understand.” She also mentioned that even if this is an international exam, doing more practice still helped a lot. The more you practise, the lesspanic you will be during the exam.
Via said, there are three tips to learn Mathematics well. “First of all,” she said, “I’m particularly grateful to Mr. Shubhankar Roy for his help. He is a conscientious and responsible teacher. Secondly, reading textbooks is also a good way to study and review on my own after class.”She also agreed with Olive that students should be selective in doing practises, with more focus on the questions that are not answered correctly.
